Zhang Qingli (simplified Chinese: 张庆黎; traditional Chinese: 張慶黎; pinyin: Zhāng Qìnglí; born January 1951 in Dongping, Tai'an, Shandong[1]) was the Secretary of the Communist Party of China Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee. He is also a member of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Known for his tough policies in ethnic regions, Zhang has dismissed ethnic officials whom he considers unreliable. He was also in the spotlight during the 2008 Tibetan unrest.
In August 2011, he was named Party Secretary of Hebei province, which surrounds Beijing.[2]
